Last year, the carrier was the fifth-largest airline at San Diego International Airport by passengers carried, commanding an 11.3% market share last year:

Regardless of the operating airline, each E175 can carry up to a maximum of 76 passengers in a two-class configuration – 12 in business class and 64 in economy class.

Alaska Airlines is the only carrier to operate on the 314-mile route, which is the second-shortest route on this list. Flights have a scheduled block time of 1 hour 20 minutes each way.

43 flights

In February 2025, Horizon Air will operate a total of 43 flights with the Embraer E175 aircraft in each direction between San Diego International Airport (SAN) and San Francisco International Airport (SFO).

Charles M. Schulz-Sonoma County Airport is a small, regional airport, but sees regular scheduled commercial services from both American Airlines and Avelo Airlines, in addition to Alaska Airlines. However, when looking at passenger numbers across all airlines last year, Las Vegas was the busiest route overall from San Diego, with more than 780,000 passengers. The airport’s five busiest routes were as follows:

  1. Las Vegas (LAS) – 780,000 passengers
  2. Denver (DEN) – 771,000 passengers
  3. Phoenix (PHX) – 689,000 passengers
  4. San Francisco (SFO) – 661,000 passengers
  5. Seattle (SEA) – 622,000 passengers.
